Download the resource here: Clothing and Colors
These materials can be used to practice naming clothing items as well as discussing color.
Pages 1 & 2: Cut strips on the dotted line and fold in half. In a group this can be used as a game. One at a time, students draw a card. They must identify the name of the clothing item displayed. If they do so correctly, they are awarded the amount of “money” on the back of the card. The person with the most “money” at the end of the game wins. For one-on-one sessions, this can be used as a lesson clothing as well as a review of Numbers, Money, and addition.
Pages 3 – 12: These pages provide visuals for teaching color names. Emphasis should be placed on the fact that the color comes before the object when describing something. For example, we say “Black shirt” not “Shirt black.” Students should be encouraged to describe the color of objects found around the learning space.
